Charles W. "Bill" Edwards, Kokomo, passed away March 22, 2015, in Port Charlotte, Florida at the age of 86. He was born Dec. 23, 1928, in Tekamah, Nebraska, to Charles and Ora (Knight) Edwards.

Bill proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Upon discharge, he attended college in Peru, Nebraska, and Tarkio, Missouri. Bill then went to work as an electrical lineman for Consumers Power Company, Pawnee City, Nebraska, the Illinois Power Company, Danville, Illinois, and retired from Public Service of Indiana in Kokomo. Charles W. "Bill" Edwards, Kokomo, passed away March 22, 2015, in Port Charlotte, Florida at the age of 86. He was born Dec. 23, 1928, in Tekamah, Nebraska, to Charles and Ora (Knight) Edwards.

Bill proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Upon discharge, he attended college in Peru, Nebraska, and Tarkio, Missouri. Bill then went to work as an electrical lineman for Consumers Power Company, Pawnee City, Nebraska, the Illinois Power Company, Danville, Illinois, and retired from Public Service of Indiana in Kokomo. Bill was a proud member of the American Legion Post #6, VFW Post 1152, and the 40 & 8 Post 1103. He married his wife of 65 years, Hannah Marie (Niss) Edwards on Dec. 30, 1949.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Peggy and Mary. He is survived by his wife, Hannah; his favorite son, Bruce; favorite daughter, Bari; and favorite grandson, Matthew (wife Trish); his favorite great-granddaughter, Taylor; his sister, Hazel Salestrom (Alvin); his brother, Bob; and many nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services will be held at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery, with a Celebration of Life Service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kokomo Humane Society, 713 N. Elizabeth St., Kokomo, Indiana 46901 or the 40 & 8 Post 1103, 410 N. Delphos St., Kokomo, Indiana 46901. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home.
